Kori Danda
Alpine ridge above Sikles, about 3,800 m. Annapurna II and Lamjung in the face. Five to seven days. Kapuche is the side lake on the same trail.
Kori is the high ridge above the Sikles side of the Annapurnas. After the Gurung village and the forest to Hugu Goth, the trail leaves the trees for alpine pasture and a grassy danda around 3,800 m. Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, and Machhapuchhre stand in a line if the air is clean. You are on an open hill, not inside a glacial basin.
Kapuche Lake sits off the same approach, lower, as a side walk. Kori is quieter than Poon Hill and thinner than Mardi High Camp. The last night can feel like a camp even when there is a roof.
