Tangting / Krapu Danda

A Gurung village, then a short climb to a ridge around 3,090 m. Sikles across the valley, Annapurna II behind it. Two days if the jeep runs.

Tangting is a Gurung village on a north-facing slope northeast of Pokhara. Stone houses, terraces, Sikles across the valley with Annapurna II behind it. From the village you climb forest and old pasture toward Krapu Danda (also Krapu Choh — “very high” in Gurung), a ridge around 3,090 m. The view, when the cloud lifts, is a wide wall: Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung, Manaslu.

This is a short walk, not a sanctuary approach. You are on a hill above a working village. Dawn is the point.

Jeep from Pokhara to Tangting is on the order of two hours when the road is open. Two days is the usual: up one afternoon, sunrise, down. ACAP. Beds on the ridge are limited — some parties sleep in Tangting and walk up for dawn. Same skyline as Sikles; Kori and Kapuche start from that other village.

Days are a usual range, not a promise. Jeeps, snow, and your pace change them. Permits and guide rules change — ask in Pokhara before you go.
