Seti Gorge
The river under the city. White water in a slot canyon you can look down into from bridges near Mahendrapul. Five minutes, oddly unforgettable.
The Seti Gandaki runs through Pokhara in a slot it has cut in the valley’s lime-rich gravels. At the bridges near Mahendrapul (including the KI Singh / Mahendra Pul area) the river can look only a couple of metres wide; the drop below you is much deeper — tourism writing often says more than twenty metres. It is a five-minute stop and oddly hard to forget.
The river goes underground in places and reappears. After rain it is white and loud. Stay on the bridge; the gorge walls are not a path.
